Is anyone else super conflicted about this game quality-wise?
SPOILERS FOR THE OPENING AHEAD

On the one hand, I absolutely applaud the guts to make a full on introduction of completely designed well cast characters only to fake us out and hammer the point that death just happens in this world. On the other, I dont mind killing off characters as long as you replace them with better ones, and so far the Ch. 0 cast seems cooler than who we got later on.

The presentation seems really neat, almost aspiring to be AAA which is a welcome first for this team, but they go way too far with stuff that is showy but pointless like the Shinigami GOD sequences.
Some of the minigames are terrible. The barrel and letters one just SUCKS. And they ARE NOT CONDUCIVE TO THE PLAYER PERFORMING DETECTIVE WORK. At this point as a fan of mysteries long obsessed with the idea of good detective games Ive sadly come to accept most games SUCK at asking the player to truly solve a mystery and not present the solution obviously in the way the answer must be presented.
Not only are the Reasoning Deathmatches and the Barrel not conducive to thinking, they reveal too much by presenting a limited array of responses and by rquiring attention to simple minigame gameplay instead of focusing on the logic. The Deathmatch minigame is literally the Statement System of Ace Attorney but a million times worse since you have to play a bs game instead of thinking about the statements. You can only really counter a small amount of predetermined statements, and the evidence to counter is preselected too.
The way doors split is also too easy. I understand developers are scared of the players getting lost in the train of thought but the posibility of that happening is literally what makes a game like this interesting. If my hand is held THAT much im not really solving much, am I?

The mysteries seem really cool, but it feels like something I might as well be watching rather than playing. Even Danganrompa felt more involved to me, at least so far.
