There was pantsu in DR but it was 2D and even that was inconsistent. Sometimes void.
In that new Tribe Nine game, there is censorship for sure with void on a character that realistically should not have any given camera angles.
I'm not sure. It's Shinigami censorship that I can confirm from the art-book. What made me even perplexed and disappointed, is the fact that the game is M rated, with excessive violence and burned bodies. So, the censorship wasn't made to target a lower rating category.
I'm done with these Japanese companies that seem to hate their fans for the sake of modern audience. Pantsus that where shown in T games a couple years ago, and still shown in PG-13 anime, are now a taboo for these compromised gaming studios in M games.
I'm boycotting Koei since the censorship of Ryza 2, fun fact: Ryza 1 didn't censor them, and I'm happy to do it for this studio too.
Can't trust a studio to deliver an authentic story, if they had to censor their arts for no legal reason. Even Chinese games, like Hoyoverse's and "Sword and Fairy", are doing it better and in good faith. Where the final product design is the original artist design, and not simply and ugly black smoke to bait players.
Pantsu absence isn't not the reason. I'm playing games with similar designs. However, the other games had real fabric under the skirt, that were faithful to the artist's design, and not some low effort black mist added on top of the pantsu to censor the original art.
If you still think it's ridiculous to care about such matters, I won't engage with you until you give me a good reason on why an M rated game should feel the need to censor its original costume design, or art in general?
What does this art look like? Also are there any in game pictures of the void?
I was looking at pictures of a figure released of her and the figure shows no visible pantsu. Character figures are never censored. The inner fabric of her skirt conceals the area and I can't even imagine the necessity of a void. To me Shinigami just seems like a tasteful design that isn't going for pantsu, rather than censorship.
The girl from Tribe Nine is definitely void censorship though.
Is this evidence? Keep in mind. M rated game.
A lot of JP developers are doing this in the last couple of years, and I don't know why. Some of them start even reducing jiggle physics, like with Atelier, while China is in the rise with Hoyoverse. It's not just pantsu, it's a whole artistic expressions that are being censored.

You can't be serious. All I saw was a sketch/render of her pantsu by itself.
If anything they wanted to show us what her pantsu would look like since she wears a frilly dress that makes it impossible to see, but the type of underwear would show more of her thighs anyway. It's probably black like her dress too.
It's just a tasteful design. Not obvious censorship.
By the way, Hoyoverse needs to comply with Chinese state censors and have been caught toning down characters in their games. They cannot realize their vision either.

And even Danganronpa had used void in CGs depending on the situation. I would give this one a pass.
Thank you for the info, but for now this studio is dead for me and these compromised games don't worth even being pirated. As people mentioned, it doesn't seem that they're changing things with Tribe Nine.
If you, or anyone else, knows why such censorship is necessary for an M game, please tell me.
Don't take this as an attack or an insult, it wasn't meant as such.
However, the others are right, that just looks like a tasteful design and not just random censorship.
If you want to see what actual censorship looks like, I invite you to take a look at the Death End Request games. THOSE have censorship and I abhor it, because it ruins otherwise awesome designs.
You can't call this censorship when the design was most likely done that way from the get go. If anything, I'd use the presence of jiggle as a counter argument that there isn't any censorship involved, since it's a lost easier to remove that, than it is to modify a texture.
