I have loved spending time in the world of Forgotten Hill since FM Studio's first release. I have played and delighted in each title and Forgotten Hill: The Wardrobe is no exception.

If you enjoy point and click adventures with a minimal story, cool artwork, good sounds, diverse puzzles, and a macabre twist, then Forgotten Hill: The Wardrobe is a game you should not miss. I would recommend playing all of the FM titles but no specific order is advised, as each stands alone.

The Wardrobe is a multi-generational tale of a cursed wardrobe and the impact it has (never good) on those who encounter it. The game is filled with puzzles of all types that range from obvious to head scratching. You are never left without clear clues, as long as you are paying attention to patterns. There are some mechanical puzzles which were not difficult and some tricky logic and translation puzzles (which took me some time to work through).

The game autosaves and saves on exit so you can quit at any time without losing progress. However, if you leave a puzzle partially solved, you will start that specific puzzle all over when you return. I learned quickly that it behooved me to finish a multi-part puzzle before leaving the puzzle or the game!

This is one of the longer Forgotten Hill games. Perhaps I am slow, but it took me almost 30 hours to complete it with 100% achievements. While most achievements are story-based, there are a fair number that can be missed. There is guide on Steam that outlines those that are optional. Once a chapter is complete, it can be replayed for missed achievements without starting a new game. This is always a plus for me.

The game ran flawlessly, without bugs or crashes. It was a fun and rewarding experience that i highly recommend.
