Open-world metro
Yes, I know the last game is open-world with multiple medium-sized maps rather than 1 huge one, but I was replaying 2033 and was just thinking: how cool would it be to maybe still have some overarching quest (get to polis or whatnot) BUT be able to freely travel to whatever stations you wished. To be able to explore more of the world and see different stations/meet different people. You could still have all the stealth and high-intensity combat and whatnot, but just be able to go off the beaten path and say "I've never been to X station, let's go there!" And be able to risk taking shortcuts above-ground to get to different places.

This is basically S.T.A.L.K.E.R. it would not be for the bugs...
I had some cool mods for when i was playing a lot of STALKER Clear Sky and it was fantastic, had trouble getting it to work the last few times though.

I guess I was saying more of the "Exploring the city in the tunnels, open-world style". Like you decide to go from Polis to.... that Venice place. You'd kinda map it out, figure out which tunnels/cities you'd pass through, and then have a neat time traveling the metro from point a to point b, collecting cool gear, finding neat places, and fighting mutants/bandits/nazis/commies during your trip. I just think it could be awesome.

Here's hoping the new STALKER ends up being good.
