If you're getting trailers, check your overlay to see if the Store Page is open. And if you're getting adds, check if your browser is open in your overlay. Maybe you opened the browser and visited somewhere that auto plays ads.

Are you sure you aren't listening to youtube or something? Or if you posted in the right discussions? Metro shouldn't and doesn't have ads that play in the background. This isn't a mobile game so I highly doubt the devs would stoop so low.

Alternatively, press shift tab and check if steam overlay connected and played something on the background.

You might have a computer virus or something. this game in no way whatsoever has ads in it playing in the backround...

Assuming Windows10 or greater, and a WIRED Speaker/Headset, with the game running, Alt-Tab and then Right-Click the Speaker in the Lower-Right Corner, select Volume Mixer, try muting everything that is not the Metro 2033.

If the ads are actually coming from the game then its possible you either have a Virus or you're playing a Crack Copy.

If you're using a Wireless Headset/Speaker, it's possible you're receiving interference from a neighbor.
