Virtual DND tabletop options.
Im looking for immersive maps, visuals and sounds effects for tabletop dnd.
Does anyone know of some options like this that come together as a set , or even separately?
Something that will show on a screen , maybe with some animations of background and ambience?
moving water in streams, trees blowng in wind, birds and another ambiance noises, fire crackling ect.

Enjoy this animated map! it's free, My maps come with a 1"Grid and perfectly fit a 42" television but it will work on anything really. You can lay a TV down on a table and put your tokens or miniatures on them and let the chaos begin!

other possible leads
DNDbeyond seems to have some interesting options , though it seems limited to 2D still images.
Also ihve heard of roll20, but it seems to be a profit oriented project rather than a for community oriented project. Also seems to lack any sound or animation, but it does have maps.

seems to have some interesting backdrops and maps, but I Dont see any distance markers on the overhead maps.

This has both visuals and narration..... and advertisements.

If you open the workshop, you will find a little box on the right side where you can write keywords in order to search it. This way you should find all the things you desire.

You might want to look at FoundryVTT. It has an official 5e module, fan made modules for almost every game you can think of, the base game is limited to 2D but there's a semi-official 3D mod for it called 3Dcanvas (that you have to make a single payment on patreon to gain access to, but once you make that payment you have permanent access), and a massive community making more content for both the 2D and 3D modes.

Here's some example gameplay of the VTT with the 3Dcanvas mod being used for actual gameplay from one of the larger modding groups supporting foundry.

It doesn't have the physics that TTS does (or at least didn't when I last looked at it), but FoundryVTT's prebuilt modules are amazing and completely streamline playing unless you're making your own system or houseruling to an extreme extent.

[Edit] It has other official modules too, PF2E is one. I can't remember how many though.

That looks pretty and all , but lacks the 2D grid necessary for placing table top pieces on , and I dont think there is music.

Looks good for for PC gaming though.

It doesn't lack a 2D grid. The 3D mode is essentially just using the 2D grid to place 3D assets in a 3D rendering engine. If you don't have any assets down, you have a flat grid to begin working on, also I think you can have the grid be projected onto the assets you have put down, the same way as in TTS and TTPG, but I am not 100% on that.

Also it has music, dynamic music, active sound effects (ie sound effects related to weapons and actions) and ambient sound effects.

Thank you for the suggestion, taking a closer look ,

maybe it has one, I didnt watch the entire video, but I didnt see any grid lines to use as a virtual map on a table top to place game pieces on.

It looks like it was made for PC gaming to me, and has several people who appear to be playing online over the internet.

I took a second look at it. It does have pretty visuals, looks like it might be hard to get the camera at the angle you want to position on the screen for consistent scaling and movement.
None of it looked like a stable overhead 2d or stable isometric view that would be practical and helpful for placing table top pieces on , so I dont think this would work well for use as a virtual map for table top gaming. Maybe as background ambience on a 2nd screen. Thank you for the suggestion, I might even use it for some PC gaming sessions instead if I find myself looking for that type of game in the future.

Are you trolling? In your OP you ask for 3D, now you are complaining about 3D. And you keep saying tabletop as if you mean physically playing on a tabletop, but you're asking for videogames on a videogame's forum.

I don't understand what you are asking for...

Do you have a screen that you've laid horizontal that you want to use as a modifiable battlemap for physical realworld gameplay? Such as one of those high tech "gaming tables"?

If so, foundry's 2D mode is good for that. Also another option is Fantasy Grounds Unity. There's a lot of tabletop options that do this actually, though those are the two I am familiar with. Both of them allow animated backdrop images and do sound and bookkeeping.

Thank you for asking and not assuming like so many other people do. I seem to have been unclear on many aspects of what I was looking for, sorry for that. 3D is great for visuals, but something with a clear 2d surface /mapmovement/position system what im looking for. 3D visuals, 2D map and grid, if that makes sense.

I wouldnt call a hundred dollar screen "high tech" but yes, thats very much what Im looking for, maybe add some music, and a 2nd screen with some art visuals and music for ambience.

Thanks, it seems to have some good 2d grid maps. Does it have a mod that can simply display a map without requiring system interaction. Fully lit, can show the whole map at once, or pan and zoom as appropriate?
What I would really love is a 2d map or isometric that has animated background sound and music, but a flat still map is just as good as a paper map, and easier to store and modify :)

They have customisable UIs, though I am not sure how much you can minimise it as I haven't tried that.

However another option for you though might be a bit of software called Dungeon Alchemist. It has a free demo for you to try. Basically it is a randomised map maker, you tell it what you want your basic terrain to be, then you drag out rooms/corridors or what have you and it autopopulates them. I have not used it so you'd need to double check but I understand that It can populate dynamically animated maps as gifs and such but I think you can also just play off of it. The UI is fairly minimal and it allows you to build terrain on the fly. It's 3D but is meant to be used to create battlemaps for people to print off or put on other virtual tabletops.

I don't think it handles sounds (not sure though). But since it has a demo you might want to try it.
