i have a decent company however i still lose money, what should i do?

Love the game... Using the real world logos and subsidies I try to build real cars as close as possible. The engines and chassis are easy enough to replicate but I still find myself guessing on how to tune a gearbox to get the desired top speed, acceleration ect... What im trying to do is match the performance stats to the real world.
