Peaceful...

It's like Animal Crossing without the furniture and Harvest Moon without the farming, but in the best way possible.

I really enjoyed this. Gameplay-wise there’s a real joy to the movement and the exploration. You do feel like you’re on your own little adventure in this beautifully crafted world, which you can take at your own pace. The setting of Japan at the turn of the millennium is also well fleshed-out, with beautiful environments and a lot of attention to detail.

I’d been wanting to try out a game in the Boku no Natsuyasumi series given its recent increase in popularity. This one seems to have modernized some of the gameplay, taking inspiration from games like “A Short Hike” or “Breath of the Wild” in terms of movement mechanics, but without losing any of its charm or core formula the series is known for.

I played most of it on the Steam Deck. It runs really well and serves as a great cozy game for the platform. The shooting mechanic in the game automatically used the Deck gyro controls. It’s the first game I played that did this so I was surprised at first, but it’s a great fit and now I can’t imagine playing it any other way. I really appreciated this attention to detail.
