For anyone else who gets here and notices that the original Incoming (packaged with Incoming Forces) crashes at the title screen on Linux, I thought I'd list the things I needed to do to get it to run: The crash appears to be down to Proton running within a 64-bit prefix. I suspect someone smarter than me could figure out what library is at fault and could override it in Proton, but I couldn't figure it out. Instead, I opted to run the game with a 32-bit Wine prefix. Found an old copy of the game in my library, but can't install it as it says it's not for 64bit and I should contact the developer. I would consider getting the Steam version, but there's hardly any point if the game can't work without Virtual Machine or something like that. (Windows 7 to be exact) Just as a side note, this includes the original 1998 version of Incoming, right?...
