Any plans on fixing "saving"?
Was enjoying the game with a friend in online coop, got pretty far, then suddenly the game came to a crawling halt, about a minute later "connection error", we reconnect to each other only to find that the game started over again.

Starting over from the same stage would have been anoying, but okay, starting over from scratch isn't just annoying, it's unacceptable, even though I was enjoying the game I am not going to be starting over again any time soon

A pick stage feature is unlocked if both players have cleared the game and unlocked the Green Ranger on any difficulty on a local playthrough.

But that's not really my question, now is it?
I want to play through the game, in coop, with my friend, where we're "power rangers" together, we're a team.

I don't want us to both play through the game, alone and then once we're done with that, finally coop together what we've already done on our own.

Yeah, this should really be built into the game by default.
But for now you can try something else, if you don´t mind.

Just an idea. (again...)
Because IT IS possible to unlock the Green Power Ranger by simply editing a config file, maybe this will also activate the stage select option?

If that works, OP and his friend could do that and play on where they left.
Worth a try.

In the %appdata% folder you'll find a folder named MMPR Ritas Rewind. In there you'll find a file named alpha_settings.json wich you can open with notepad. In the file you'll find the line "num_unlocked_rangers": 5,. Change the 5 to 6 and save the file.

Or maybe there is an actual setting for level unlocks in the config file??
Would be nice if someone could check this out and report if that´s possible... People keep asking for this a lot but don´t respond to possible solutions.

This is where any argument should end, it should be in the game and it's not.

You could save state your way through a janky online coop emulation of the SNES game and I payed $51 Australian Dollariedoos for any given multiplayer session to be yeeted out of existence forever by a simple lag spike.

while that unlocked Tommy, it did not unlock stage select.

Thanks! At least that question is cleared now.
Well, too bad...

Still with the same problem. At least I read that the devs are working in a solution

It feels like the game has just been abandoned at this point. The devs used to post here, but no word from them at all recently. They probably got shifted to other projects and left this game behind.

"What's next? Online improvements! Later this spring, we'll upgrade the game's online mode to allow up to six machines to connect for multiplayer matches. It's worth noting that since our game uses peer-to-peer connections, more machines in more locations with more distance between them will introduce more latency. We still feel a two-machine connection with multiple players on each side will offer the best co-op experience online, but since this feature was heavily requested, you will ultimately be the judge."

No idea if it's still in the work, no communication since february and the power blast update. We're still in Spring after all.

Last month on April 25th, Digital Eclipse responded to someone on their post on X saying "The online patch is still in the works, we'll let you know when it's live!"
