Taking inspiration from John Carpenter's 1982 "The Thing", "There's Something in The Ice" is a horror walking simulator that plays out like an interactive one (1) hour mini movie. There are no puzzles to solve here. Gameplay is strictly walking around, collecting a few items, talking to a few people, and watching scary events happen.

+ The atmosphere is spot on immersive. The graphics can be cranked up to Native 4k with extremely photorealistic environments.
+ The sound effects in the game are also very detailed and immersive.

+/- The story is serviceable but we've seen this all before.

- The NPC characters stick out like a sore thumb in this game. They do not move their mouth when they speak, the subtitles are written in a cheap text on the screen, and the voices are AI and not believable.
- The ending is a bit disjointed, the last 10 minutes are a bit all over the place and feel weird.
- Some of the environments (although very detailed), are strictly popular store bought assets.

The whole thing feels like a one hour Sci Fi interactive "B" movie, with excellent graphics, but weak and cheap looking character interactions. Still fun though for those seeking exactly that.
