On another note, and seeing that there is some confusion about claims themselves. You do NOT buy a claim, you buy the RIGHT to have a claim (or more) in a world.
So, a free player buys the 20 coal claim, now s/he has the right to claim one plot of land. S/he can claim and unclaim a single plot of land wherever s/he pleases (as long as it's not claimed, obviously, and complies with the claim rules set for that particular world: READ A WORLD'S RULES). If said player wanted a second plot of land, then s/he'd have to acquire the 40 obsidian "right to claim" before doing so.
