Just accept that you're going to have to use a potion or two every encounter. You used to be able to just drop down an enemy level but since the 25% penalty, you're basically forced now to fight against enemies near your level. Once you get good armor you won't need to use potions anymore so in a way they're kinda like an investment.
The only time i'd suggest going against an enemy stronger than you is if you both have a really good set of gear, and the next enemy is weak to your primary style. The main downside there is that they may drop equipment you can't use at your level.
1 - Fight creatures 5 levels below your level. You will have an extra 50 HP than them, this can help a lot to balance out the fact you can't guarantee you have the appropriate armours for your level.
2 - If you have membership, always make weapons for your level. Make sure you get purples. I replace my gear every 10 levels. Level, 50, 60, 70, etc
3 - Don't Passive train combat. If you do, you are just boosting your level without giving yourself the chance to get the dropped weapons/armours you need from them.
Hope that helps.
1 - Always attack your enemy from at least 5 tiles away if you can with a ranged weapon. Don't range enemies that range themselves, it will usually always be worse for you.
2 - Set your settings to 1 click attacks and set your ranged attack to the spacebar. Then you just need to click enemy, hit spacebar. Massive quality of life thing.
I don't see a setting in Keybinds for "1 click attacks". Is it called something else?
Go to:
1 - Settings
2 - Controls
3 - In the "do first action" (in the mouse options) select left click
Hope it helps. :)
Great, thanks! This will definitely make things easier.
