I'm able to move pieces, but once they're put together it becomes really weird/unrecognisable. Is this normal?

when 2 pieces are put together but not in the correct place, it duplicates the pieces and makes them unmovable

So I can't actually get the game to begin. I get to what looks like a title screen in a sort of hallway with a iphone to one side showing an ad for the main hidden cats games, and I have an active mouse cursor. But nothing on the screen is responsive except for the phone. If I click on that, I get taken to the Steam page to buy the cat games (which I already own). But I can't click on anything else and get a response. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Am I missing something obvious?...

I can't grab pieces in 7th picture"Vampire Lair", 400 Pieces, Black and White.

As I connect pieces, the pieces are duplicating themselves. This is in the 60-color-piece mode.
