First off, this game is about the tamest slice-o-life content you can get despite its outward appearance of being a cheesecake factory. Outside of a handful of cleavage shots on one particular cast member (who, imo, is the least appealing anyway), the game is mostly about navigating a plot that has the same writing chops and raciness of a Saturday morning NBC teen show; in other words, it's pretty people in mundane situations that go nowhere. That said, the production quality is better than it needs to be with sets brightly lit and well-furnished and surprisingly varied as your adventures on- and off-campus take you all over some city in China. You'll occasionally be asked to perform a very generous QTE click or swipe, but the game is mostly navigating a branching path and there don't seem to be any failure states, just arguably unfavorable ones. At any time you can open up the decision tree and go back to make a different choice if you so desire, scumming your way to a desired ending which is more-often-than-not abrupt.

Plotwise, you are the only male at an all-female university without all of the sexy hijinks that implies. The story is still ridiculous and it is very much wearing the harem-genre uniform as your decisions are mostly about growing each girl's "like" bar to head to some sort of romantic ending, but the romance is very childish. Most of the cast like you simply because you're the only dude around and they're aggressively trying to get your attention one way or another. At least one of these relationships feels inappropriate, but not in a good way - you'll see for yourself if you're curious enough. Still, the game takes great lengths to be as inoffensive as possible, so it's really just about seeing the cast making cute faces at you which is going to either do it for you or it isn't.

That said, there are still two very good reasons to play this game.

One - Serena. I don't know what kind of recognition she gets in her homeland, but she's a stunner regardless. Whether she's a seasoned actress (unlikely) or some insta influencer (more likely), she spends most of the game staring into the camera with her big brown eyes peeking out from under her bangs. It's no wonder or surprise that the majority of the screenshots on the community page are of her and she's also likely the very reason you're even reading this review in the first place. Her in-game character is flirtatious, cute, and - according to the store page - gentle. It's easy to get into her good graces and navigate to the ending where she kisses your eyeball (all the girls kiss the camera instead of below it).

Two - Wen. Serena's last name in the game is Wen. You may likely find the other cast members attractive and you'll find no argument from me, but seriously, go look at the community page. Everyone loves Serena Wen and you should, too. I don't want to say it's the hair, but it is totally the hair.

Jokes aside, there's nothing very impressive about the plot of the game or its gameplay. This is just one of those games from the 90s when FMV was the hot new thing where you watch a short video, make a decision and then get rewarded with another short video. Interspersed between videos might be some low-interactive text conversations, but it's mostly just watching videos and clicking your mouse. Despite this, it's a low-key way wind down your day. I can't even say any of this material is worth dropping trou for, so if that is your goal, move along. This is just a straight-up milk run with a cast of cute women making cute faces while speaking to you in Mandarin (though one girl inexplicably breaks into Cantonese for no reason at all from time to time... unless I missed something?).

On that front, the game mostly works. It occasionally cracks where you can see some subtitle timing code show up and the translation is decent enough so as not appear broken or done by machine. That's not to say it's perfect, but instances of weird grammar are rare. Of course, I only speak for the English subs - I can't say how good or bad a job they do with the other languages supported.

The plots are silly and the comedy often falls flat, but it seems this is aimed at a young audience and I'm likely way past the Best Before date on that one. Still, it's an easy way to wind down the day and enjoy a snack. Literally, I play this while I eat, nothing more. I can't imagine anyone finding this content titillating, but if you do, more power to you. Otherwise, if you just want to admire impossibly-pretty Chinese girls with some absurd stories about university life, then maybe you'll enjoy this.

TL;DR - the game does its best to be inoffensive and therefore there is very little that is risque here. The cameramen probably had more fun than you ever will with this game, but if you're bored and like a lot of video content to sift through, there's tons of stuff to discover. Beats the hell out of Her Story at least.
