In the startup screen, adjust the graphic settings to minimum, then the game should start, you can change them once you get in the game.

I'm having the same issue, where I press play and an error box states "access is denied (0x5)". I already configured it to low setting. I think I am on still version 4.0

How did you do this ingame? I keep seeing people saying "You can change it ingame", I don't have the option to change the textures to high settings in game at all :(

You set the graphic settings to the minimum, then start the game, after you are able to run the game you can exit the game, then incrementally adjust the graphics and keep testing that you can still run the game with the chosen graphic settings. There is no way to adjust the graphics while in the game.

I got all the setting on the highest possible, that works, however, as soon as I put the textures on high, the game won't start. I seen several topics about this and everyone keeps saying "You can adjust it ingame", but the textures can't be adjusted in game, all other options are there, just not the textures.
Even after playing the game I can't switch textures to high, the game just won't launch when you do that.

I do have a Nvidia card if that's a problem perhaps?

Textures don't work set on high with Windows 10, you can set everything else on high and run the game. For some reason there seems to be a compatibility issue with the texture setting on high and Windows 10.

Not sure if it helps, but I had a similar issue, and narrowed the problem down the Texture setting set to "High" .. Setting maximum graphics works, and setting everything else to max, including antialiasing etc. But High textures cause a crash on start every time. - I basically set the High default, then drop the textures to low.

i'm using win 11 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz 16g ram and i get shut out to desktop on launch of game .. no errors and each time i do an integ of files i have 3 files missing .. why

Any update, still unable to play the game 2 years later. Set everything to low and it still crashes.

Hi, We are still having trouble identifying the issue as we can't replicate it.

Can you check and see if Windows Event Viewer has any errors in relation to the game after it crashes?

This is still happening, is it ever going to get fixed?? Whats the point of releasing a new DLC for free if the game wont even start.
