Good game overall. Exploration and the maps are meh, but the boss fights are super fun. I really like it, but I can't recommend it unless you're a Sekiro freak like me, 'cause it's got too many bugs. If they fix those bugs though, the game could actually turn out more than decent.

The end said it was Part 1, so I'm looking forward to Part 2 hopefully it's more polished

great game for 20 bucks

The combat is familiar, enjoyable, and works really well. There isn’t anything there that has a budget feel to it and if you like this style of combat in a game then there isn’t much of a reason to think you wouldn’t also enjoy this. It’s not forging much new ground, but I wasn’t looking for it to.

From a visual artistic look and feel stand point, there are some cool and fanciful things to look at. It’s probably punching slightly above it’s weight there, but it isn’t as refined or as impeccably well done as a large budget game. To that it does have something of a prior gen quality to that aspect of it.

Similarly, there are a number of old school jank issues that one has to be ready for. The most notable being the level traversal will let you get into some goofy situations if you wander far off the intended path or on uneven ground. I’ve never gotten stuck, but I’ve been felt like I came close a time or too. In those tight spaces you might get to see your eyeballs from inside your character’s head as the camera tries to figure out what to do. That kind of stuff. It’s generally avoidable and not caused me any inescapable issues.

The main complaint I have for the game comes from notable stuttering at times. Restarting helps, but it is likely area specific, and mostly my rig is more powering through it than anything. Boss areas are generally confined enough the problem doesn’t seem to happen in big fights, but it’s not ideal and a very valid reason someone might not want to play the game.

When it comes to bosses, they seem to be plentiful with fights kind of hidden around for you to find. They generally haven’t been that difficult, and they tend to feel like “boss” fights as opposed to “BOSS!” fights. IDK if I consider that an issue or just something to note.

All in all, I feel like I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth out of it. If the game cost substantially more then the polish elements would be harder to over look, but the core parts of the game feel good and I've been more engaged by it than pricier titles recently.
