this ♥♥♥♥ is harder than dark souls

Really doesn't need a review, I don't think, I think this is the kind of game you know whether you'll like or not from the premise. It nails the premise. It gets in, makes it's point perfectly, and leaves you alone to wonder what just happened. Perfecto.

Scratch cooking on a budget

Interesting, unnerving, unsettling, fresh.
Supringsingly engaging and precise gameplay that is much more fun than you would think.

I really like me some strong art direction and this is definetely present here. Even though the "story" was more ambiance than actually interesting, it works as a frame for this short experience. This gamehonestly nails the "how long does it take"-factor.

If you like and want to support "new" things: Must buy.
If you expect this to be a revolution in waling simulators: Don't buy.

If you like eggs: Grab your pan and hike to mount everest. There is a smoking hot chick(en) at the top!

Fun little game mechanic and cool graphics.

Arctic Eggs revels in its own strangeness, and I love it for that. Placed in the boots of a nameless fry cook at an Arctic prison colony, you must feed the denizens eggs - and sardines, cigarettes, cockroaches, beer, or bullets. Tapping into the physics-based frustration-inducting type of gameplay seen in the likes of [Getting Over It] or [Jump King], Arctic Eggs puts it's own spin on the genre. Each item takes up precious space in your pan, and managing to not drop anything while flipping the eggs can be quite the feat. This is very likely the first game ever made where a difficulty setting changes the height of the walls of a frying pan.

The eccentric people inhabiting the frigid prison colony are all eccentric, and lots of the dialogue had me laughing out loud - from insane backstories to philosophical musings to wild non sequitur, the tone was very unique and I never knew what to expect from the next benefactor of my frying skills

I didn't enjoy every gimmick item that landed in my frying pan (damn those cockroaches), but the difficulty curve was very satisfying, and by the end of the game I was very adept at flipping those eggs.

Arctic Eggs is the kind of game where you know if you'll love or hate it by the premise alone, and it does a really good job with that premise - throwing in just enough weird ♥♥♥♥ to keep you on your toes and stay memorable. I'm still not sure if I could fry an egg at the top of Mount Everest, but I'm willing to give it a try.
