Change active ship while on freighter
Please make it possible to change the active spaceship just as it is on space stations and the anomaly.

EDIT 241210:
I mean the fast change option via the (pc) X menu.
Please make it possible to change the active spaceship just as it is on space stations and the anomaly while being anywhere on the freighter.

This exists already - it is the same menu entry that you would use to summon a new ship on the ground, or swap at the anomaly or a space station. On PC, using mouse & keyboard, that menu is accessed with "x". This does only work on the freighter you own; on an NPC freighter, you can't do this, and that is one of the few spots where getting out of your ship does not generate a save, since you can never save on an NPC freighter (the other spot you can never save is the dungeon-style derelict freighter in space).

On your freighter you also have a second option that is sometimes even easier: up to six of your ships will be displayed in the docking bay, and jumping in any ship will make that one your active ship. If you have more than six ships, and the one you want isn't one of the displayed ones, you will need to use the x-menu to swap them out; doing that will replace your current active ship in the docking bay with the one you summoned out of the void (so if you want to control which ships are displayed for RP reasons, you can do that, although it can be tedious).
I actually want it to be easy and be able to do it from the bridge or base part of the freighter, not running around in the ship bay.
So being able to do it like space stations or the anomaly would be how the way to go as long as there isn't any easier way to transfer things between to ships directly.

That is exactly how it already works. From anywhere on your freighter, bring up the x menu and you can switch your ship, the same way (and at the same spot in the menu) as you would switch ships at the anomaly or a space station.
No it does not. As you yourself say. It only works that way if the ship in question is not on the freighter. As soon as the ship is onboard you can no longer fast change between them.

You changed your criteria. Currently it is exactly as it is on a space station. If you have 2 ships at the station you can't use the Switch Docked Ship to summon a ship that's already there either.

I understand if you're way back in the freighter & are moving inventories between ships or changing out modules, that this could be convenient. That means I understand why someone might want it, not that I agree with you even in the slightest.
How can you have 2 ships at a space station?
I have never had an experience where that was the case.

This happened to me when I bought a ship in the space station. I don't know if the ship that is not "active" disappears when you change systems.

Hmm. Now that I have tested exactly the scenario you describe here, I see what you mean - you cannot use the x-menu to switch to a ship that is already visible in the docking bay. However, in over a thousand hours in this game, I don't recall ever seeing that message ("already docked") before, and I am certain that I have done exactly what is now blocked at some point in the past. Especially when fixing a bunch of crashed ships at once, if I run out of something, I'll go up to the freighter base where the refiners are to make more chromatic metal or whatever, and apply the fixes to several ships from upstairs.

That makes me suspect that something has changed, and that it did used to work the way you would like at some point in the past. I know there have been a number of bug reports about people losing the wrong ship when scrapping, or getting two ships mashed together (appearance from one, tech from a different one and such), so if Hello Games fixed that, but had to make switching ships less convenient, it might not be easy to reimplement. There also is (or maybe was) a longstanding quirk/bug where sometimes the only ship visible in the docking bay would be your active ship, and in that case the block would never matter.
