too many mountainous planets
there are too many very fluffy planets, there are almost no planets at all that are flatter, the top one is harder to walk on, it is a bit harder, it is uninteresting It would be good to make the planets a bit flatter

this is something i've noticed for a while and was hoping would be changed with the new "advanced worldgen" stuff, it is honestly quite rare now that i find a planet that isn't 50% water or 50% mountain, a proper desert planet with some vast sprawling dunes would be awesome, some mountains would make it even nicer but it's usually no mountains or all mountains
Actually love the mountain worlds, the flat ones are super boring.
the point is to drink different planets some are very mountainous and long are flatter and there is something good for everyone
You are probably just having a period of same stuff/different system RNG. That happens sometimes. I will go for a week where every planet seems to be extreme weather and hard to see what is going on. Then suddenly I start getting a different pattern including just random different planets.

Taking a longer than normal warp can sometimes improve your luck on distributions...or maybe it just feels that way.

Considering the amount of planets available and the newly added waterworlds, which have nearly no land at all. It shouldn't be too hard to avoid the subjectively boring mountainous planets. Changes to existing planets like this would easily stir up more trouble under the basebuilding playerbase.

But i see where this is coming from...

Honeslty, I haven't seen many "jagged" planets since the update. They still have hills and mountains, but not constant sharp valleys that are a pain to land or walk.
and I had such bad planets
Try to use a couple of black holes, and see if where you land is a bit different than previous sector of the galaxy.
