Does a purple freighter drive exist? Will it?
Kind of annoying that even after completing the entire questline I can't summon my freighter to purple systems. Especially when I need to access my storage.

You should've gotten the recipe at the same time as you got it for your ship. It's called "Resonance Matrix".

yes when you get the one for your fighter it procs the one for your frieghter, problem is you got to go in with your fighter and get what you need to enable your freighter to follow.....i had a gas giant it was fairly challenging for a perma death save...but fun

make a base and teleport to your freighter for supplies until you enable the freighter drive

I'll check tomorrow, but I don't remember seeing it.

No it doesn't. It unlocks.
It shows up after you've gotten to SOME point in the questline, no idea where, but it does.

You then select an empty mod slot & it should show up as A Purple Hyperdrive looking engine thingy.

I don't think I ever got a notification in regards to unlocking the drive for the freighter. I only found out that I already had it whilst looking into the catalog to see if there was a grayed-out item for it, to see if it even existed whilst waiting on frigates to do their thing (on the remote chance that maybe they would unlock it)
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This is what i did after i found i could not use the Anomaly teleporter.

I assumed my own base teleporter would not work either until i made the anchor thing, for which i needed supplies at my base that i cannot teleport too.

So i simply made some containers which i knew held the supplies i needed, problem solved.

you've very lucky to have got all 3 S hyperdrive modules. That's been the true endgame for me. S for all the others but the hyperdrive one just won't drop.
There are specific system derelicts that only drop S modules for freighters. There are vids on them iirc. Been a while but the name of one derelict in Eissentam galaxy is Mobar. There are others too but that's the one I have used in the past. The whole system is full of bases. Fun times.

this is what i and many others missed... we were going to the upgrade console on the Freighter bridge looking for it...

yep... i accidentally hovered over my Freighter Tech while i was reading something else and saw it in the pop up... it was easily noticeable because it was the only thing in the list :steamfacepalm::steamhappy::steammocking:

Yeah i found a great location for it, which is where i got S modules for everything else.

Only 4 rooms and you only have to shoot 2 turrets.

I wrote a guide for this, because I wanted to explore the freighter side of the game.

destroy dreadnoughts without touching the warp engines, you'll pretty much always get an S class freighter upgrade (I'd say always, but I once got an A class...). It's RNG which one you'll get, but you'll get the HD upgrades eventually...

I can clear my derelict in a few minutes, so that still seems the quickest and easiest way. the issue is the RNG always giving me other S modules.

Is there an easy way to farm dreadnoughts? don't they only appear every couple of hours?

Edit. the next run i tried after writing this got me the last module i needed. amazing

They can appear anytime in high conflict systems (pirate systems are always high conflict).
If you encounter one that wasn't as a result of the 3 hr + 5 warp trigger then it's likely a permanent spawn point too. Meaning that every time you warp into the system you will get a dreadnought battle.
These systems are fairly common, but I don't think many people warp back to previously explored systems given teleporting uses no HD fuel... so they are not as common knowledge as I would have expected.
If you find two such systems near each other you can just warp back and forth to get an endless line of dreadnoughts to destroy. (I like to find one for each race to rack up the rep for all 3)
Takes me about 30 seconds per fight and another 30 for the warp, so that's roughly one per minute...
