A Subscription based service is what is going to make a lot of people deter away from this product. If there were simple one-time purchases of licenses, I feel as if this would be a better fit. However, I didn't make this software but I am excited to see how new and improved it is. Great work and keep it up.

are you intending on making facerig itself totally non-functional or simply phasing out support channels?

We are not going to do anything to make FaceRig non-functional. We are simply going to phase out support starting in 2022.

Wow a subscription service, what a terrible idea.
Dairen 7 Oct, 2020 @ 6:50pm
I have to agree with others. This subscription model is going to completely turn me away from your new software. FaceRig was fun to play around with occasionally, but it's just not the kind of software I would pay a subscription for to always have on-hand. I hope you will consider changing to a one-time purchase.

Not a fan of subscription based services at all. Very much deterred by never owning the product you pay for. Especially at these price ranges.

Would be MUCH more inclined to look into this if there was an option for being able to buy a license for the software. This option was what was a good thing about Facerig even if one was unsure how much they would use the software as a whole. I never felt pressured to "get maximum use" out of facerig, which made it more fun to tinker with.

20 a month is also fairly steep if one is unsure how much use the software will see month per month, but still may need some of the options beyond what the free/demo may offer.

At least for me, never even having an option to own the product you pay for is a major negative and makes me wary of even using the software.

You are a tool for entertainers. Not netflix. All you offer is aspiring content creators, and successful ones who are just trying to make by, a special form of technology to either hide their face or do something interesting. You do not own the exclusive rights to this kind of idea and its shameful to nickel and dime users just because of Vtubers being a thing and you not getting enough money for it.

If you wanna be any form of technical, Apple did your idea for free with their devices, and if they or anybody else wanted to they could make something decently comparable to your service for a fixed fee or free. Don't kid yourself. THIS. IS. A. TOOL. YOU. ARE. NOT. A. UTILITY. COMPANY. OR. ENTERTAINMENT. PROVIDER. THAT. IS. BUYING. CONTENT.

it's 20 a year, not a month. Still more than I'm willing to pay for what amounts to a novelty

Here is a novel idea. You make a product.... and we buy the product and we get to keep it. What made Facerig good was you can use whatever you pay for forever. I need another subscription service like I need a hole in my head. This is why I use procreate/Affinity instead of Adobe. One time fee versus milk me dry every year. Hope you enjoy flushing your money cause its only small streams that use this stuff due to insecurity issues of being on cam. (Only reason I used it) There are other programs out there that are catching up fast and are a one time fee.

Yeah, but after support is gone, you still keep Facerig. Will Facerig still accept sub money for Animaze when Animaze ultra turbo edition comes out? no!

Subscription is a big no no...
Maxiter 7 Oct, 2020 @ 11:05pm
Well, time to upgrade my Facerig license. Sub based? You're mad. You're just gonna make more people stay with Facerig.
SoanoS 7 Oct, 2020 @ 11:44pm
Subscription model? Um, no thanks. I have never been a fan of it. It makes using any product feel like I MUST use it constantly before end/renewal date of the subscription or I will be "wasting" my money. Which is NOT what I want to be thinking of.
I wish you luck with your attempts at launching an improved facerig but I honestly can't imagine spending that amount monthly (?!) for it.
Arctic 8 Oct, 2020 @ 12:26am
I was interested in supporting Animaze but the subscription model is too much.
