Yeah, that's really rude to those who preordered Tesla Effect, I hope they fix that.

Well, that's inconvenient. I don't think they can merge them, though. The only thing they can do is to give a free copy of the store version to those who pre-ordered Tesla Effect.

After some research I believe they are not the same versions because Tex Murphy: The Pandora Directive is published by Night Dive Studios (they probably published them at GOG.com too) and Pandora Directive (w/o Tex Murphy part) published by Altus. Probably Altus or Big Finish are not having rights to use "Tex Murphy: xxx" in the name but got the rights to use it's content or something like that.

they are indeed the SAME game, SAME versions
atlus had nothing to do with this,
what you see atlus for is TESLA EFFECT and the preorder of TE was PD all packaged by ATLUS for steam,
atlus had NOTHING to do with PANDORA DIRECTIVE

that said, they are the SAME GAMES, same files, same size etc

problems:
they are listed as seperate games, which they are not,

there is no extra content for the preorder, but it was NOT available in STEAM until just recently...when TESLA EFFECT came out PANDORA didnt exist on steam, which is why it has a new app id... which sucks for people who preorered
HUGE OOPS: no matter how long i play, it says 1 min played
raptr doesnt see legacy games, and steam says 1min only after 20+ hours in the game,
anyone else have that issue??

and again comrade no offense but i checked with big finish and atlus they had NOTHING TO DO with the PANDORA DIRECTIVE in the terms which your post describes,

they just put together the steam preorders and the gog ones too
gog had MUCH better stuff, im sad to have got this on steam esp since no community exists as they are split in 2, and no.. sadly there will never be a merge or fix for this

There's a quick fix for the 1 minute "bug". You have to edit "Launch The Pandora Directive.bat" and remove one word:

If you have them both you can see they got different appids and the size of files. They are not the same.

the creators of tex, Chris and Aaron,have then and do now still own the IP's and games of tex series,
the pandora directive without tex, was not on purpose, again this was pre tex on steam so steam had not yet built a real id with news n such yet.

again atlus, didnt touch the games other than to pack them up in terms of steam and gog
long run the backed the TE with funds and helped in playtesting..and they helped in adverts and pushing on sites etc, and it added a name people love.. ATLUS,
but they have nothing to do .. with pandora directive... period..

my config says this

start /MAX DOSBOX\dosbox.exe -conf dosboxtex4.conf -noconsole -c

so you said get rid of START, but what about the /max??
im confused at why start would stop that odd steam clock, and confused what max means unless its max screen aka fullscreen, and why would i make that go away?

i took out start, and left max but the bat didnt run,
sooo im lost

Just make sure your .bat looks like this:

DOSBOX\dosbox.exe -conf dosboxtex4.conf -noconsole -c

Just this one line and you're set.

"start /max" just means "run secondary program in fullscreen (and finish the .bat)", nothing really fancy, but since for Steam monitors "Launch The Pandora Directive.bat" and that one is always quit after one second you never got any playtime.

ah so thats it, start must = stop upon bat launching dosbox sooo i see..
oddly max removed keeps it IN fullscreen so realllly not sure how that effected anything (shrug)
