The Problem with Velgrynd
I honestly think i was less frustrated fighting Manfred in last faith. Velgrynd is severly OP and over tuned. When the witch with a healing summon was less difficult you have done something really wrong here.

1. He does way too much dmg for any single hit he does. This is not the last boss, he should not be smacking off 80% in a single hit, a regular hit at that.

2. He has barely any wind up for his attacks beyond the fire bombs. He needs to telegraph much longer to give people a chance to fairly dodge his guilotine attacks.

3. His attacks cover almost all of the screen. The punishment for missing a dodge or parry, which he barely gives you any window for is insane. You have a split second to dodge that, and if you try and heal after your dead.

4. It doesnt make sense to try and hit him with any kind of normal attacks. If your attacking then your not dodging. If your dodging your in some stage of death or dying. You have to use the auto attack as you run around. He doesnt even have a break gauge, their is no window. If you have to try and cheese a boss, something is wrong with it

Thoughts:
The entire manner of this fight is flawed. It would make sense if he started off super OP, But youd destroy cores or engines in the boss room 20 seconds later. Those would disable and diminish his abilites, as your drag the giant down. Instead of us trying not get smacked like a cockroach. This as has been expressed by many others, is a massive drag. A deeply unenjoyable and out of step portion of the game, that may gate keep player who did not sign up for a full on dark souls dodge and parry dance party. Every other boss in this game had fair reach, clear patterns and telegraphs, and sometimes a SINGLE death blow move they did not use frequently. Their is no need or point for it to be so annoying and frustrating. Please rework this boss, its a wart on a beauty of a game. I loved ender lillies, every boss was challenge and a triumph to beat. This is just making me want to do something else.

He is the boss I dislike the most in the game, as he seems to have been intentionally created by the developers to say, “Hey, use your parry skills, Rona, and the owls' auto skills.”
I'm not good at soul-like games, so fighting Velgrynd forces me to use a specific combination of skills to win.

i thought he sucked but then again i thought every boss sucked until i got better after the second-third attempt.

I really like how Ender Magnolia allows you to adjust the difficulty setting, you say he smacks off 80% hp in one hit but you could lower the damage dealt by all enemies in the difficulty setting tab.
It's not even this boss itself, it's how the game handles certain attacks. Velgrynd makes a swipe, you get caught, you several ticks of his swipe damage + end-of-attack-slash, sometimes even *after a successful parry or dodge*. Velgrynd is not the only boss guilty of this, but he's the most significant case for this.
