It's already in the game. It's called rain.

This is a feature the devs want to include. They experimented with it a while back, but were unhappy with how the results turned out, so they did not include it in the game. Once they update the engine to run DX11, they may try again.

We are running DX11 now, and the manufactures don't want their trucks displayed with dirt on them :)

As far as I'm aware the manufacturers don't have a say about dirt in the game, only damage.

That said, I don't care for it, not even if it's optional, because optional stuff leaves traces/ui stuff that will annoy me.

Or imagine you want to take a cool pic of your truck, but need to find a place to wash it first.

This is absolutely and categorically FALSE.

Pavel confirmed in the Washington Pre-release stream that dirt is not part of the licensing agreements.

That will be why that they are being added in the game and the latest are not yet discoverable.

It's not that they don't want it. They just didn't like how it turned out. The licensing part was just a widespread rumor that was batted around and accepted as fact for the most part until SCS said that wasn't so.

As for the truck washes, for now we will just have to RP that when we roll into them that a bunch of guys/gals with high pressure sprays and squeegies are washing us up.
