Saying "make it better" is easy, but "better art" is different for everyone. Everyone's going to have different tastes on what they prefer, so in regards to appealing to an audience, having those kind of ideas would help them out if they decide to update it.
I do like the cover art currently but I do agree. They've been using the same art for the game for at least a decade. When Steam did library changes, it got a little bit updated to accommodate that, but now with the game being out and everything with the game's world and plot now set in stone, I think it could be updated to something much more 'whole' and 'grander'. Preferably something that catches the eye and makes people want to click on the game to see more of it and insights curiosity.
i think something like 'scott pilgrim' cover art will be perfect for this game.

Not entirely sure about that one. Usually it was changed for the worse back then, haha.
But the ingame pixel art is so good, i feel like any random screenshot would do better :D
