We don't have any relation to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (and we don't say that), please tell me what exactly do you think is wrong. Thanks
But...
Exactly.
Yeaah, that doesn't work when your store page even says:
* Let's make something as epic as the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. [...]
* 3D first-person shooter in a post-apocalyptic world of stalker
Straight from the store page.
It goes on to list Metro 2033, and one other game, they're stating they want to create something that approaches the levels of epic those games created.
You do realize that the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." Games are based off of a film by the name "Stalker", and that they may very well be referencing said film right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_%281979_film%29
Actually, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is based on the world created by the short story, "Roadside Picnic," which Stalker was inspired by. Either way, stating that the game takes place in the world of either S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Stalker, still implies that the developers have permission from either the creators of the games or the movie, and it can be misleading to customers, because they might think that it's somehow related to or endorsed by either the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Stalker creators. That, and making a game with specific features like anomalies and people going through a contaminated zone like this is, if not outright infringement, toeing the line of infringement and possibly outright plagiarism, depending on the lore of the game. It's never a good idea to base your product on an existing setting unless there's clear proof of permission from the original creators, or unless it's public domain, which I'm pretty sure Roadside Picnic, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and Stalker are not.
I sure do, and I'm not here in an attempt to try and lambaste the devs for anything, however does that still not fall under copyright? As in, is the creative/intellectual property of the Stalker film not still being used therein?
Again, I'm not here to be "one of those guys", but I thought it was worth pointing out that it does obviously take place in the Stalker universe and because of that I assume that either the devs have permission or a licensing agreement (assuming it is in fact even under license?), to say "this game has no relation to S.T.A.L.K.E.R" (and by extension, the Stalker film of which both S.T.A.L.K.E.R. the game franchise/series and this game are based on) seems a bit ludicrous.
As for the game itself, I'm not here to criticize nor hype, I simply find the notion of implying this isn't borderline plagiarism to be a bit of a long toss and I think it's worth bringing up.
Simply referencing another game or mimicking certain aspects of one is not the equivalent of copyright infringement, and if your problem is the game's lack of "originality" I assume you're aware that very nearly the entire video game industry is not but one long string of someone else's rehashed ideas.
If YOU care so much about the real STALKER franchise maybe you should spend your time trying to convince GSC to get back to work on it instead of causing trouble for people that are trying to recreate as much of the feel of it as they are able.
Just for the record, he stole music assets from Neurological's soundtrack for the mod Eternal Damnation. No permission was ever asked for, much less given.

Hi!
This old video was outsourced, so I'm gonna kick some butts in that production studio.
I'm going to remove the video now.
thanks for reporting this.
