“You said we were gonna play mini golf!” – Frank West, Dead Rising 4.


Frank West was promised mini golf and he’s going to get mini golf, as Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf launches today on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam.

Bringing three modes of zombie stroking play to the tee (Online Multiplayer, Local Multiplayer and Single Player), we’ve constructed a challenge for the most avid undead golfer. With Frank in the announcer’s box offering the most colorful of color-commentary, players will take control of Connor, Isaac, Jessa and Jordan as they compete on six different courses each with four holes. We are releasing patch # 5 today which contains a single fix. This patch addresses a problem which caused some players to crash when starting a co-op game.

• Addressed an issue which was causing a crash for some players while trying to play co-op

Hello Dead Rising fans,

Today, we are releasing a patch which will address the crash on boot issue some of you are still experiencing, as well as an issue affecting those of you playing the game in Russian. We want to say thank you to the community for providing us with information that led to the fixes for the crash on boot issue. It was a bug which was easy to fix but hard to find, and continued support has paid off. The full change list is below:

• Fixed an issue which would cause the game to crash on boot for players running the game from a hard drive with a sector size that is different from their C Drive
  
• Fixed an issue which was causing the game to crash in a specific area when playing in Russian.

We also want to comment on some of the issues people are having when trying to force SLI and Crossfire to work. Some players have set up their systems to force usage of both GPUs by default, and some players have tried to force SLI/Crossfire ON while playing DR3. While this can benefit some games, DR3 PC does not make use of dual-GPUs. If your system is set to force dual-GPU usage when playing games, you can expect to see lower frame rates when compared to not forcing this setting.

We have a quick update on top of Patch #2 that went live a couple of days ago.

Today's update, Patch #3, increases the overall volume of the game to better match the sound output level of the Windows sound system. In addition, the team has included a little gift as a token of appreciation to thank the community who has provided constructive and helpful feedback. The feedback certainly helped the dev team narrow down, reproduce, and fix some of the egregious random crashes and crash-on-boot issues that has affected a subset of users.

Thanks again for your continued support. Your feedback has allowed the development team to reproduce and implement a fix that should address remaining Optimus laptop crashing issues that occurred on certain GPU/chipset combination.

The patch has been tested against the new GeForce 344.11 WHQL drivers. We recommended that you update to the latest driver as it contains fixes that address other stability issues.

First and foremost, I’d like to thank all of you for your patience and tons of helpful feedback you’ve provided while the dev team worked on resolving the crashing issues.

The team has been working very closely with NVidia to find solutions to the crashes that have been affecting certain Nvidia users, and now we are happy to announce that the new 344.11 WHQL driver released today should address most of these problems.

We’ll follow up with additional details soon, but in the meantime please update to the latest driver linked below and give DR3 another spin. It is also highly recommended that you restart Windows upon installation to ensure proper driver initialization.

2. In the right window, select the Program Settings tab
   
3. Select or Add Dead Rising 3 (deadrising3.exe) from the pull-down menu
   
4. Select either ‘Use global setting (Auto-select: NVIDIA GPU)’ or ‘High-performance’ NVIDIA processor’
   
5. Click the Apply button and close the NVIDIA Control Panel.
