Just did a reinstall to check of that was the problem. But the black screen remains. Sadly can't send a report because I can't see what I do.

That is very weird. It runs smoothly on our test macs... tobias from our team is going to contact you to find a solution to this issue!

Thanks, just did another re-install. Including deleting all source files in Application Support etc.. but still to no avail.

We have discovered that this bug is Unity related, the engine we use. The way to go around this is to play the game in windowed mode or native resolution (default resolution of your monitor).

Could you please explain to me how to do this? i changed the resolution of my screen but the application still opened all black.

Either play on 1280x800 or go into Settings > Game > ''And here tick Windowed mode''.
I have a higher resolution but the problems stops with playing windowed.
Of cours to get into setting you first have to set your computer to 1280x800 to change it.

I'm very sorry, but i still can't figure it out. I'm pretty sure my computer is on 1280x800 already, and i tried telling the game to launch in windowed mode, but it didn't work. Could you possibly show me in a screenshot how you did it?

Doing this I was able to get it to start and in settings change it to windows mode.
I'm on Yosemite at the moment, but can't recommend it because of constant crashed when playing a new game file.

Thank you!! yes, i finally got it to work! but i'm using a 13-inch, so i had to select the 1024 x 640 setting. thanks for your help!!
