I'd say mostly yes but most importantly we need to capture the spirit of the old games that used a focus more on the narrative

Agree, if it goes soulslike wich is a stupid term by itself it is not an onimusha game.Not all games need to be like that,especially with games like these wich have an allready big playerbase and has it's own identity.
