Where is this Onimusha 2 remaster news from? Google search didn't bring anything up.

I need Demon Siege remastered more than Samurai's Destiny. It's better if they work on both of them at once.

Why would you want it to be a Souls like?
I mean, I've never played any Onimusha... but shouldn't it stick to what made the series successful? Whatever Onimusha is, it should stay Onimusha.

I mean onimusha aren't that successful, that's why it took them two decade to make a new one.

I don't care that it is not "souls like". I am sick of "souls like" games. If you want to play souls games go play the souls game. I don't want this ruined like Darksiders 3. Instead of getting a badass hack'n'slash we got a sad attempt at a "souls game". Just stop. I remember when every FPS was trying to be "cod like".

The series got a trilogy on PS2 that sold a combine amount of nearly 9 million units. Which is really not much different than what Resident Evil trilogy got on PS1.

Taking a break of two decades doesn't necessarily means the series was performing poorly. It could simply be that Capcom lost interest in making those games, none of their directors were interested in making a new game or they didn't have any ideas where to take the franchise next.

The theme of Onimusha itself doesn't leave a lot of room for expanding. It's too specific in time period and location. While Resident Evil can go anywhere.

If it was sold well they will keep making it and milked it, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter are the example and won't take them too long to make a new game.
Like Dragon's Dogma are the example of bad initial sales but the after sales keep coming so they released a sequel in 12 years, because the initial sales were not good.
Same goes with Onimusha series, the sales is not good enough for CAPCOM so they shelves it until now, same goes with Dino Crisis, and any other sleeping franchise from CAPCOM.
They are a company remember? They loves money, they don't make games for us, they make games for money.

braddah these souls fanboys are starting to sound and act like call of duty fanboys.

I implore u to stop asking for everything to be homogeneous, therefore, boring

the last souls game came out 10yrs ago...move on
f souls like, very good this is not another wanna be DS !
I love souls-likes and platniumed most of FromSoft's games since DS1 but Onimusha isn't a souls-like and shouldn't be designed as such. It has its own identity.
That's good. There are more than enough Souls likes with a similar theme:

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers

Nioh

Nioh 2

Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice

Black Myth: Wukong

Phantom Blade 0

Let Onimusha feel like Onimusha.

No not really, market is allready over saturated with "soulslike" and ♥♥♥♥ following what's "trending", we need more authentic IP's like onimusha. Soulslike games can suck a ♥♥♥♥♥.
