Anyway, starting a pity olympics with who has it worse is always offensive for both sides so if you know of a charity drive for your cause, why don't you link it in the OP and everyone can at least have the means of information to look into helping both in some way?
I'm not arguing which event is worse. This is a badly made game (or nongame) anyway, and it shouldn't be covered up by an idea that this game could maybe remotely contribute some public good in an unknown place.
Euske's been in NYC for six years so he's hard. :p
As a Japanese person now living in America, I can say this is totally off-base and doesn't represent how most of us think whatsoever. The OP completely missed the point that this game doesn't even focus on the tragedy itself but on the beaches of San Francisco where different artifacts and various memories continue to wash up, and as someone who moved to SF from Japan I can say this experience (true, not really a game) hit the nail right on the head for what is currently going on right where I live.
I'm sorry that this project didn't speak to you, personally, but to be honest with sentences like "So now it became clear: with the sense of rightousness of saving wretched people in some oriental country, Steam can sell any garbage to you." and "Because these people are so prickled by white guilts or something, they can sympathize virtually anything!" in combination with your crappy Minecraft avatar, it's very clear that you aren't a concerned or intelligent Japanese person but probably just some angsty, pissed-off asian FPS playing gamer kid.
Get lost, find a conscious, and stop telling honest people which tragedies they should be more concerned about. If you read the stickied post here, the devs aren't making a cent off of this 'game' so your whining about how the game isn't to your liking is in poor taste. But that was obvious to everybody to begin with.
Nice to see common sense still exists in good people.
The game won't run for me, but I imagine the idea is pretty nice. Lately I find it hard to connect pictures of washed away towns and the people who used to live there since there are major disasters every few months and the images are spammed aggressively everywhere.
Someone is angry, for sure.
As for Euske, you have no empathy, but I cannot fault you for that because your specialty is that of an Extraterrestrial Alien killer. Perhaps in the future avoid games like this. You should get X-Com Enemy Within instead =)
I don't think so, you're on a beach in California, out of range of any 2011 tsunami.
Anyway, to the real point. Just because the Phillipines got it worse doesn't mean that some good still can't be done in Japan.
