People feel guilty? Dude I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game with all my heart. The atmosphere it creates is insane I mean, mankind is in ruins and you get an insight into how people used to live and you follow the descent into chaos from different POV's, then see the physical evidence for yourself. This game meakes me sad and bewildered, it's the only game of it's kind I haven't taken to be pretentious or just plain lame. This game shows itself to be less than it really is. Granted it's not for everyone so refund it.
I'm ranting because I'm pretty defensive about this thing I don't want to sound like an over-pretentious douche but this game is VERY near and dear to my heart. Just know that this game has a small but tight-nit fanbase. Again, It's not for everyone but I don't know why it strikes so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ close to home for me. I can't put my experience into words. Simple as that, it's too hard. I guess if I where to try I would say that this game just feels important. And big, like huge. It's like it accesses parts of your brain that have never been explored and makes you feel ♥♥♥♥ you probably won't ever feel in your entire life. A lot of games make the fall of mankind seem so insignificant and over the top with action but like I said, playing this games it seem important and profound yet insignificant and sad at the same time.
I've been ranting now but I just wanted to tell you why I love the game, and no, people who give it good reviews don't feel sorry for the devs (why would they?).
P.S: yeah I does tell a story. Like it literally does, with words, not some BS "use your imagination" like some other games.
