Yeah, it was weird. The keyboard didn't work until I had completely reinstalled the drivers for the Controller. Now it works fine. And yes, I'm enjoying Pixel Boy. :D

Awesome man, super stoked to hear that. As long as its all working for you now. What is the best power up you've made so far?

For me, the best combination would be Splitting pixels, spread shot and the last one either being growing pixels, pixel shield or life steal (that one is a life saver).
I haven't gotten that far yet, but that seems to be the most effective!

I'm having the same issues right now. Just downloaded and installed the game, and neither keyboard nor controller do anything at all. The keyboard doesn't work even when there's no controller plugged in. I can move the mouse cursor, and use the keyboard for Alt+Tab or Alt+F4. That's about it. I'll try reinstalling drivers and see if that does anything.

EDIT: Nope. Can't control this game at all. Game is 100% unplayable for me. I'm on a Windows 10 Acer laptop, if that means anything.

Well I just updated to Windows 10 so I'll start a New Game to see if that's the issue.

EDIT: No, I tried that, it's definitely not Windows 10. If you haven't done so already, try redownloading and reinstalling the game. Sometimes Steam encounters errors with games. It happened to me with Skyrim and Sonic Generations. Best of luck to you!

Game works fine now. No idea what was wrong, but it fixed itself without reinstalling. Maybe I just needed to reboot the laptop.

I'm having this issue as well. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the game three times, updating all of my keyboard and controller drivers, and rebooting my laptop to no avail. I'm able to use both my controller and keyboard for all other applications just fine including while using Steam to launch the game. The game is completely unplayable in this state.

I've been able to play this before on this same laptop, although that was using Windows 7. I'm currently using Windows 10 which was a very recent upgrade from a complete format/re-install of Windows 7.

Same for me. Win 10 Keyboard + 360 Controller not working. Reinstalling 360 drivers now

Do uninstalling the Xbox driver via the device manager and restart did the trick.
Controller and Keyboard/Mouse work fine now. Yay, and thanks for the hint Adam-Matic Gaming

Same problem here, I can´t play with mi keyboard, mouse works correctly but keyboard does not work

Same problem. Windows 10. Keyboard does not work and I can't use the mouse to shoot. Seems like the devs abandoned their game though...

I solved my own problem. Apparently DirectX needs to be installed since the game uses XInput.
