Black Screen Windows 11
Hi there

I've been reading into this and so far feel like I've tried all the fixes most people suggest. Everytime I open singleplayer or multiplayer its the same thing. Black screen however all the sounds are playing and I can skip to the main menu. The music is all playing in the background its just the screen is black.

I've tried updating my drivers, changing compatibility settings, enabling stereo mix, installing a plethora of extra programmes from the C++ thing and have just found no joy. I had a similar problem with MOHAA the other day on GOG and managed to overcome the issue but this one a tough nut to crack.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yes, some players have reported encountering a black screen issue when trying to play Call of Duty 2 (COD2), especially on newer operating systems like Windows 10 and 1112. This issue can occur in both single-player and multiplayer modes.

Here are a few potential fixes you can try:

Compatibility Mode: Run the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP or Windows 7. Right-click on the game executable, go to Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and select the appropriate mode1.
Run as Administrator: Ensure you run the game as an administrator. This can sometimes resolve permission-related issues1.
Update Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause display issues3.
DirectX and Visual C++: Install the latest versions of DirectX and Visual C++ redistributables4.
Microphone Trick: Some users have found that having a microphone plugged in can prevent the black screen issue

Thanks for getting back to me. I've tried all of those things except for windows XP actually so I'll reinstall it and give it a go. Not sure about the microphone trick as I run a wireless bluetooth headset but I've tried turning it off and on and checked the settings and its all enabled.

Can I do this from outside the game? Because I cant see a thing from start up so I cant actually change any ingame settings.

Did you plug in a headphone to microphone jack?
