The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

Tired of these cash grabs
Beth put the bare amount of work into this game and sold it today's market. It really bugs me seeing studios milk gamers like this.

The article best describes the problems....

The modern gamer defends these games because it justifies their overpriced hardware no one cares about (not even developers) and that brings value to their sad, empty lives.

You will never catch any regular person defending these corporations and their terrible practices no way no how.

Imagine buying a new car that advertised that it has 3d spatial stereo and the stereo cuts out every time you try to use it. Who on these forums would not go to the dealership and tell them to fix that?

Exactly. We all know these guys are simply jesters playing contrarian all day. Because they couldn't seriously be that absorbed in a game that runs bad and crashes for everyone.

But of course when brought up, never any video evidence just a pointless chime that it "runs fine" and then later admitting or elsewhere admitting the game crashes in their post history.

Complete jesters. It's a shame that the Royal Court of Reality and Common Sense won't let them perform there.

Strange... if it performs SO terribly, how could I play it with pretty stable 60fps outside, much more inside for almost 300 hours without a problem?

And I don't have a 5090 or something like that. RTX 4070 Ti Super, Ryzen 5900X, 32GB RAM, NVMe SSD, old nVidia Driver 572.42...

Almost forgot: Worth every cent for me!

I have a bit lower specs, 5800x, 4070super, 32gig. I had to turn off raytracing to get 60+ 1440p everywhere. I just locked it there because its enough for me. I still thinks it looks good, and I have a good time with it. But there's many that want to get closer to what their screen can do 120,144,165hz etc. The performance doesn't match the visuals I believe
Just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it doesn't work for others. I have a mid tier PC (9800x3d, 5070Ti, 64gb) and I run this all day at 120fps, 1440p, maxed out with hardware RT at max. 100+ hours. It's only crashed on me about three times, due to a broken mod.

Criticizing this game is hard. Mainly because it's still a 20 year-old game with its technical limitations, even though it has a new fresh coat of paint. So you criticize it as a modern game, or as a 20 year old game?

And I'm not a fanboy. This is my first time playing Oblivion. I absolutely love this game now. And I'm glad Bethesda went through the trouble of making it.
Golly, another thread started by a Marxist complaining of a "cash grab" (the latest communist buzz words).

But when the "others" start to outnumber the regulars it means the game was not optimized.

I'm playing this on steam deck at high graphic settings. I don't understand why everyone else is having problems.
I brought it months ago and when I realised it has the exact same crashes as the original oblivion I could see the company doesn't care less anymore but instead wants to steal our money. I became stuck after about 10hrs of play where no matter what I did the game would crash as I came out of a cave. So I can't play it anymore and it was a waste of money. I'd prefer to play the original Oblivion as it crashes less.

I don't know why someone gave me a clown. I'm being serious.

Reportedly, this Remastered game has seen 9+ million players in just 3 months after release.

So, even if we could see 900 (instead of 9 or 90) people lining up to nitpick this game's "poor" performance - assuming they do own the game - that'd be still just 0.01% of the player base.
the original oblivion had 880 graphics files (grass, clouds, cloth, leaves) for the environment.

skyrim has 4400, anniversary ed brings it up to 6800

oblivion remastered has 29,880 deco files. And every single one of them is the highest quality texture/material work ive ever seen in my whole entire life.

You havent noticed AN ENTIRELY NEW OPEN WORLD? The original oblivion was encircled by mountains like it was a gameworld in a fishbowl. Like a battle royale multiplayer map or something. Remastered has been completely reshaped and is now realistic with the mountains south of the imperial city now opening up out into the ocean in a MUCH more realistic way.

The amount of changes virtuous made is baffling. They are the first developers on earth to ACTUALLY remaster a game.

The dents in the wood, the cup stains on the table that only appear under torch light, the literal welds in the metal, the chain links you would need the skyrim MESH mod for (FULL VERSION)

Embarrassing. Literally embarrasing to say this is a cash grab

you can shoot enemy arrows out of midair using your own arrows in oblivion remastered

in the original, arrows dont collide with eachother.

the devs of oblivion remastered added diagonal dodging, ive never seen that in a single game in my entire life.

10 seconds it takes me to load and be INSIDE of oblivion remastered. Its my new go-to-game for all my youtube videos as it loads the fastest, It loads overall 2x faster than fallout3 does.

Seeing npcs walking like 500 meters away and enemies deep in the woods and not De-rendering? Thats amazing. Pulling mobs all the way across the gameworld like classic games? Check

If its snowing or raining open your bag and press H, even papers in your bag will become frozen with frost on them. And if its raining you and all your gear in your bag looks wet and shiny

its the single handed most impressive video game in our world right now. First person. Third person. 4x more overall equipment than default skyrim. I had no idea oblivion was an EQUIPMENT trove. A literal human armory.

Stop lying man. What are we down to 3 open world game makers on the planet? You wont stop until theres 0 will you? Literally making up lies in order to make a great game appear as a bad game. You are no gamer.

I have the same experience as TheHusky (except I played OG back in the day). What we need to remember is that people who have problems with a games' performance will come on the forums to say so. People who do not generally have no reason to say that a game they bought works.

Because of this, forums become an echo-chamber, seeming to suggest that everyone is having the same problems. If my game performed poorly, I would be on here looking for a possible solution, too. As it is, I am one of relatively few "others" who bother to say that it runs fine - at risk of being called a liar, glazer or fan-boy. Not surprising most don't say anything positive all things considered.

Mick Salvage is a known troll who basically spends all of his days sitting on Bethesda game forums on Steam to just rag on them. All day. Everday. And its all incredibly sad. But he doesn't care and believe me, he never will. Because he was too busy looking at his post before posting it, and goes, hyuckhyuckhyuckhyuck. Really funny man that one. But he never knew love, because the man he loves the most never knew him nor never loved him back.

I honestly think people defend games or write good reviews for crap products, in general, because they don't want to admit they got scammed or burned, so they dig their feet in and defend the product or company... but this is very counter-productive because it allows companies to keep doing the same thing.
