I’m not a big fan of point-and-click adventure games, but I picked this up as an often-praised classic from the past to play with my wife. These types of games work well for co-op play since you can easily follow the plot, and the puzzles usually require more thinking than acting, so both players can participate equally.

I can’t really compare the remake with the original, but the visuals are a significant improvement. I’m not sure if I would have enjoyed the classic version. The inclusion of face animations during dialogue is a nice touch. One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to highlight active objects—a great quality-of-life improvement that I’m always happy to see in point-and-click puzzle games.

The game tracks your progress with a score based on your actions, which feels a bit odd. Most of the scored actions are mandatory anyway, so it doesn’t add much in terms of gameplay. I prefer the modern approach, where achievements reward specific, perhaps less obvious actions.

The puzzles are mostly logical, but there were times when I felt completely lost, and the in-game hints were a lifesaver. However, two puzzles stood out as exceptions: the clock puzzle (I still have no idea how I was supposed to solve that one) and the infamous BRING SEKEY MADUOLE!

Overall, this is an enjoyable game. Story-wise, I don’t have much to say. The sexist and dim-witted main character is often cringeworthy, but I suppose that adds a bit of comedy to a game otherwise full of dark moments.
