Anonymous data by default?

Why is the anonymous data enabled by default in the settings?
But worst of all, why is there no warning about it when you first launch the game? Does that follow any privacy legality?

Hi,

I’m actually working on an update to strip this out - however for the very first time you launch Act I, you are asked if you would like to contribute to anonymous statistics. It is NOT enabled by default.

The synced saves / settings mean that if you re-install the game you won’t see this a second time, unless you clear your local configs.

You can also opt-out at any time using the Estranged Options menu.
