Known Issues with Lichdom:Battlemage (Last Updated: 9/18/2014, Build 2014.08.20.66130)
General
  • Some users updating from Beta/Early access have reported grayed-out or missing UI elements.
    Solution: Exit the game if running. Find your Lichdom install folder (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Lichdom Battlemage). If there is a "patch" folder in this directory, delete it and then re-launch the game. Note: This is a one-time fix for a subset of users coming from pre-release versions only. This folder could re-appear in future updates and does not indicate a problem in that scenario.
Graphics
  • NVidia SLI support is still in progress. NVidia is delivering a profile to deliver full capability on SLI Soon(tm).
  • Some users are experiencing the game taking an unusually long time to start (seeing only a black screen for an extended period). We are investigating, in the mean time if the game appears to be hung on startup please give it a bit more time.
  • Some users are experiencing degraded frame rate. There are a variety of configuration issues that can lead to this, so you may want to create a thread to discuss your specific problems if you encounter this.
    - Disabling v-sync is a very common option to address FPS (e.g. where you can achieve but not continuously maintain 60 fps)
    - In addition to experimenting with the graphics options, the game resolution can significantly impact performance. In particular, a lower resolution in Borderless Window mode can substantially improve performance relative to the reduction in visual quality.
Players with avast! Anti-virus
  • Players with aVast! anti-virus software on select AMD hardware configurations may experience the game appearing to not start.
    Workaround 1: Running the 64-bit executable works around this for most users
    Workaround 2: Disable the HW Virtualization feature: avast! UI | settings | troubleshooting | uncheck option Enable HW assisted virtualization | restart PC
    Also note that Avast will be delivering a fix for the underlying issue in a future update to their software.
Gameplay
  • Defect: Players who quit the game after a specific, significant combat encounter in Lost Zasad may be unable to interact with a reliquary later in the level.
    Workaround: Fast Travel to the “Upper Grotto” vortex pool and resume play. Be sure to see the outcome of the encounter before quitting.
  • Update: The Delirium Pet issues should be addressed as of recent updates. Please let us know if you have become blocked in these areas.
    Defect: Using control delirium spells during barrier encounters might result in failure to remove barriers. This can happen outside the Shax Lodge door and at the top of the temple fight with the pool in Lost Zasad.
    Workaround: Avoid using Delirium pets during these encounters until the issue is addressed.

No specific ETA yet, sorry! In the meantime the game should run pretty well with a single card, either with reduced resolution or lowered settings.

Eyefinity/Surround still not working because of FOV and UI issues. I'm surprised it's not in the list yet.

found two crashes one after the first boss sent info through crash handler and freeze up at one of the memories near the ships the one up the wooden slope round back of houses.

Can you elaborate on the current Eyefinity issues you're seeing? We've been testing it internally (3x1 mainly) and haven't seen anything I'd classify as blocked or not working. There is a bit of menu quirkiness.

The max FOV (video options slider) is as low as ever in Nvidia Surround 3x1. Am I missing something ?

There's a workaround for this while we work on better defaults. Please try editing the game.cfg file in the game's user folder (%USERDATA%\Saved Games\Lichdom Battlemage\ ...\Steam\SteamApps\common\Lichdom Battlemage) and add the following line:

cl_fov_aspect_ratio=3

The default is 1.0. For simplicity, the value may be set to NumberOfMonitorsWide / NumberOfMonitorsTall, so a 3x1 is 3/1 = 3. If you're running something less typical, this ratio is actually the single large surface (SLR) aspect ratio divided by the standard 1920x1080 (16x9) aspect ratio. This level of detail only matters if you want to run with monitors in portrait mode.

Examples:
3x1 landscape: (5760 / 1080) / (1920 / 1080) = (16 / 3) / (16 / 9) = 5.3333 / 1.7778 = 3.0
3x1 portrait: (3240 / 1920) / (1920 / 1080) = (27 / 16) / (16 / 9) = 1.6875 / 1.7778 = ~0.95

Oh hey, that's excellent.

Just one thing, my game.cfg is located in %USERDATA%\Saved Games\Lichdom Battlemage\ and not in the Steam folder. Other than that - working great.

I tried this, looks fine for the game part, but all the menu things such as crafting don't work.

@Orca9999: Can you post or link to a screenshot showing how you're blocked on crafting? We will investigate and any additional information you can give us will be a big help.

I didn't notice the low Frames Per Second on that list. That is most certainly a known issue. Since I only have a single "high end" card, I would say it is list worthy.

We use known issues to describe issues that will block or severly impact gameplay, and for which there is either no player-actionable solution, or which require specialized or temporary guidance.

The one guidance item we can give around FPS is to disable v-sync as part of your effort to match up game configuration with your hardware spec; I'll add that to the list right now.

I am a little confused. Are you saying that there is no issue with "optimization?" Low Frames Per Second, stuttery/choppy game play on "high end" systems? These do tend to severly impact game play. I am not trying to pick a fight mind you, just trying to understand.

Windows 7 Home 64 bit
AMD FX 8350 4.0 x8
16 Gig RAM
AMD R9 290x

The above is what is inside of my computer box. Just to give you an idea, I should be able to run this game with maximum settings. I shouldn't need to alter my settings. I mean, that is like suggesting, that if the seat belt is broken, just use some nylon rope. Don't use the car Denny Crane says.

I am saying that if you have significant framerate issues on that configuration, than something specific is going on, because we're seeing excellent framerate on machines with roughly similar specs.

And thus, please start a separate thread so we can dig into it.

Dunno if this is a reported problem : After the first boss, i chose a new sigil, and before starting the second level, the game crashed during the movie. When i relaunched the game, i restarted from the last checkpoint but the boss was beaten and i was able to select a second sigil after activating the stone.
