"Fix" the washed-out coloring?
I know this is how the game is supposed to look, but it hurts my eyes. Has anyone found some sort of setting that turns off the visual filter for this game? The blacks are like light purples most of the time and it burns.

It's like playing a game on an LCD TV with poor black correction...

They probably were inspired by the defects of LCD screens for that asthetic choice.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great.

If you want to disable it, it's the Unreal engine, most of those games have the "game engine" .ini file that can enable/disable effects; You can try messing around with the settings here
Steam\SteamApps\common\KillerIsDead\Engine\Config

Okay, I know I'm a bit late, but in case people still care, here's the solution:

• Open the KidInput.ini inside ..\Steam\steamapps\common\KillerIsDead\KidGame\Config

• Add the following Keybindings under [Engine.PlayerInput] and [KidGame.KidPlayerInput]

Bindings=(Name="F7",Command="SET MATERIALEFFECT bShowInGame FALSE",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)
Bindings=(Name="F8",Command="SET MATERIALEFFECT bShowInGame True",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False)

Now you should be able to turn off the Gradient Effect with F7 and turn it back on with F8.

Note however that a few other Post-Processing Effects are gone as well.

No way, that's pretty cool! Gonna have to try that!

but to change this would completely take away the charm of the game

I started playing this game recently and it seemed more washed out than it should have, if that makes any sense. I mean, even my fps counter on the overlay looked washed out.

In my case, I'm playing on a tv with native resolution of 1360x768. However, the closest resolution the game's display settings has is 1280x720. In order for me to fix the extra washed out look, I had to set the games resolution to 1360x768. You can find steps for how to do that here https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/261110/discussions/0/613939841527714518/.

So, in short, run the game at your native resolution and see if it looks better.

I also do not like the look of the game.

is there any way to make this change permanent? and if possible, the red effect you get when perfect dodging, is it possible to keep only that and disable all the rest?
