Not working for me, any suggestions. I can get it to launch in 800x600 by cutting off all but the main monitor. Then max resolution is 1600x1200. Reset the res using regedit, keeps defaulting after launch. Downloaded the above fix, followed it to the letter, and it still launches black screen with sound. Any help would be great. I wish steam would address these common issues before selling agame no matter how cheap. If my time was worth minimum wage (and its well above that) then this 5$ game is going to cost me 100$ before I can even play it....

Make settings you want before dropping the scripts folder and dll into your game folder.

Can't seem to get the ThirteenAG widescreen fix to work. .dll file and scripts file are both in main GUN folder, but when I start on steam nothing happens. If I start the .exe I get "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)." What am I doing wrong? I've set resolution X to 1920, Y to 1080, idk what to do.

I had problems too, but I read a post that made me change the way I did it. After you download the zip drive there will be a single file and a folder. You have to zid the single file into the general gun directory but also, open up the folder and there is 3 files, zip them to gun as well. That worked for me.

This worked "Nearly" perfect for me. menus are a little messed up but other than that it's perfect, since all menus can be navigated with arrow keys. man i missed this game

Changing the res to X 1920 Y 1080 does not work for me, the game launches in 1280x1024 and does not let me pick any higher resoulutions either

Worth noting that using the fix has caused me and other to be unable to save the game - if you try using this, make sure you can still save afterwards.

It has something to do with where the cursor is displayed and where the game thinks the cursor not lining up that makes it instantly delete or cancel the save. Use the keyboard to navigate the save menu and you should be fine.

To get widescreen in GUN, you can do it through Windows Registry.

Open a cmd box, type in regedit (or open regedit app), press "Okay".

Navigate to (you can press control+F and type "Gun" to make it easier to find):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Activision/Gun/Settings

Right-click on Resolution, and click Modify. Set the resolution to whatever.

If you delete the key, the game will reset to default when it it launched.

// I ought to say, though - the game is not scaled, it is stretched... so it looks a bit weird at widescreen resolutions - the UI and text looks a bit strange, and the menus and map / other things feel as if they are vanishing into the centrepoint. I prefer the letterboxing to widescreen for some older games such as this - stretching is not good. It must be a scaled UI and I don't know if there's a mod for GUN for this.
