There are health and weapon upgrades and the legnth of it depends on your level of skill. It took me an hour to get through the laboratory alone buti it's my first time playing the genre since the SNES. I'm glad I picked this game to get back into it though because the story is different and I find the artwork charming.
It's only $3 and well worth it (Hell, I'd pay $10 for it). I'd say go for it UNLESS you get frustrated with games easily.I find learning the patterns and feeling my skills increase with each level I beat pretty satisfying.
There's 11 levels and 5 boss stages.
