Unable to set mode error
Anyone know what this error means? Trying to launch the game with the unofficial patch and it crashes with this error.

Remove d3d9.dll and check that you choose a resolution your system supports.

Ayo this worked! Was that because I picked a wrong resolution when I first booted the game?

Maybe. What worked, removing the dll or resetting the resolution?

removing the .dll is what worked.

I had the problem recently as well, installing the game and the 11.5 patch on my new laptop and the d3d9.dll was the problem for me also.

Very weird. It works for me on several PCs. Anything special about your systems? I know that Linux has a problem with that file, but normally Windows shouldn't...

Oh maybe you're on to something there. This is also a gaming laptop that I had this issue with.

Other than it being a gaming laptop and not a desktop, there isnt anything special. Intel CPU, nvidia GPU, and Windows 11 Pro.

I will upload a patch hotfix today that makes dgVoodoo just an optional extra.

Mine is a Windows 11 Home edition laptop with a built in Radeon Graphics card. It is a budget laptop so it would be one of the lower end integrated Radeon cards.
