There is a way to start a new game, although it's not the most intuitive. Going into settings and going under the "game" tab, at the bottom center, you'll find a reset button. This clears all your game data and starts a new save. There's no "are you sure?" box that comes up, once you click it, your data is cleared, just a heads up.
