Old laptop only has an nvidia mx940
14 fps - before I changed this setting
24 fps - after I changed this setting

Basically in task manager I ran across that the game was running on the intel integrated graphics.

Integrated graphics are used to conserve power, while discrete graphics (nvidia) are used to play games. For some reason SCANIA registers as a non-game that doesn't need the bigger graphics card.

Steps to change it:

1. Open steam, open SCANIA, right-click, manage->browse local files
2. Go into "bin" directory then into "win_x86" directory

3. Open NVIDIA Control Panel (not GeForce Experience)
4. Tab "Program Settings"
5. "Add" button
6. Add SCANIA by choosing the directory we opened in step 2 and selecting the .exe file
7. Back at "Program Settings" under "2. Select the preferred graphics process for this program" do NOT choose "integrated", choose "NVIDIA" instead.
8. "Apply" button

If you have a "real" graphics card like an NVIDIA 3060 your results should be far more dramatic than mine were. I'm going to try to find a way to file a bug report but in the meantime if you're having fps issues give this a shot.
