TL:DR: Buy on Sale or with EA Play


I'm reviewing this as someone who hasn't played a Madden game, my preference was always the college football games and I played NCAA 14 for easily 1000 hours over the years with the CFBR mod and later CFB25 when that released on Consoles. Before that, the last Madden game I tried to play was '08 but I usually went back to NCAA because IRL I'm a bigger college football fan then an NFL fan. I played Madden 19 w/ a friends little brother a couple times and that's about it.

Another important thing I want to say is I've been playing this game via EA Play and intend to purchase the game next steam sale.

I'm extremely divided, for $70 I think its extremely steep for what you get even as someone who hasn't played Madden in the last fifteen years. And the microtransactions are extremely annoying. Why the hell does SUPERSTAR mode need XP boosters, cosmetics, and an online component? CFB 25 felt a lot less aggressive. Overall, I think there is way better football games to play. College Football Revamped for NCAA 14 is still the GOAT and Madden fans deserve a remake mod like it.

If you're a football fan, I think its worth trying out with EA Play or buying on sale. Otherwise, just play an older game with fan made roster updates.
