while this has much more potential than the last Stygian game, it has the same issue. It is way too infuriatingly difficult without being fun. 30 miniutes into the game and the enimies are boring, tanks, and high damage but the game puts me in a position where I have to fight them. Its just not creepy or fun, just annoying.

This game is really good! The fights were a bit clumsy, but they were easy to get through if you just ran away from time to time :D I can't wait to play more of this!

An extremely pleasant mix of Resident Evil adjacent inventory and map exploration based in a rather lore rich occult background. Both the introduction into the game (in particular the method in which you customize your base stats) and the ability upgrade system offers an extremely interesting take on the first-person horror genre, only made more interesting when coupled with the unnerving setting.

The attention to detail placed in the layout of the map, allowing freedom in how you discover certain areas while also making it very apparent what areas would be saved for later allowed for a very rewarding sense of progress without too much concern of missing out on certain aspects.

At the time of playing, I did experience points where my CPU would cap out and cause the game to stutter regardless of the graphical settings, however it did not occur during any scenes where it impeded my progress and thus didn't hinder my enjoyment in the slightest.

I will be keeping a very close eye on future updates, as I am excited to continue the story from where I left off.

Amazing, truly a decent rpg/horror in the Lovecraft universe that is not a copycat or a 1 hour sad experience.

like it a lot, and the last patch fixed the performance (for me at least), so i highly recommend this game and exited for the last roadmap (tommy gun! and maybe a 1911 pistol?)

This game is absolutely STELLAR so far.
PROS:
. Very engaging and interesting story
. Great world building
. Actual decisions to be made in dialogue (Seems like they will be important for story direction when the rest of it releases)
. Weapon models and animations look great
. Weapons have a weighty feel, reloading is feels deliberate and ammo is scarce
. Atmosphere is spot on
. Left me wanting MORE!

CONS/Areas for improvment.
. Melee combat is SLUGGISH. Theres a delay between swinging your weapon and bringing it up to block an incoming attack that feels way too long, leading to fights feeling frustrating and unrewarding.
whats the point to having weapons with differing attack speeds if i can still only manage to comfortably squeeze in one attack without getting slapped myself, or needing to block to NOT get slapped.
. Enemy Melee attacks have far too much range. Another element that makes Melee combat feel unrewarding, if i whiff with my axe and the hag hits me with her sickle without me having moved an inch, it feels like ♥♥♥♥.
. Players are given too many resources without much need to spend them. Outside of the need ammo, i almost never felt the need to craft anything. By the end of my time with the early access release my chest was almost full of scrap metal, wire spools and boosters that i just never used
. On boosters, the benefits do not justify the side effects, and the boost doesn't last long enough to feel useful.
. The Map is ok. After wrapping my head around the layout of the game world it was simple enough to read, BUT IT NEEDS MORE MARKERS ON THE MAP.
This is the kind of game I DO NOT WANT to follow a guide for, so marking key/important places you find on your map would eliminate the need to look up a guide when i cant find a door i saw some hours earlier.

THOUGHTS:
Game Good. Early Aceess. Buy Game Anyway. Support Developer.

This game reminds me allot of Resident Evil 7 and system shock 2 with it's gritty realism and simulation like mechanics. It's pretty much both of those games blended together in a Lovecraft based story/location. This makes it somewhat unique. The only other Lovecraft game I can compare this to is Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. It also has some similarities to that game as well, especially the health/sanity game mechanic. Overall I give this game an 8/10. Definitely a keeper this one. Can't wait to see what the full version looks like.

A good start

This game has serious potential with its brilliant story both in the details of the world and as well as what can be found. However my only major issue is the fps inconsistency keep in mind my pc rig is 64 gb's of ram, 4070 super (up to date nvidia driver as well at the time of writing this) and a intel i7 12th gen. I should not have fps issues on any graphical setting yet that the biggest issue ive come across so far. otherwise I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking a good single player story. Just if anything do wait till the full game is released in 2026.
