ok i'm confused
I tried playing this, and I had two investigators lose 2 sanity each when they couldn't get all the right rolls. I had one manage to complete one task, eat the loss, and have someone else come over and finish the other task. Only the one wasn't finished for some reason.

This game needs a tutorial mode.

So you have to complete the objectives all in one sitting. Meaning if you see the card has 2 different objects For Example:
Object 1: 3 Investigations, 1 Terror and 1 Skull
Object 2: 2 Skulls and 1 Lore

If you complete Objective 1 but not 2 failing the extra rolls, then that area is failed. So you would need to roll for Object 1 complete that, then roll for Object 2 with the remaining dice you have to complete Objective 2

but is there a way to save any of my dice for a reroll? i can't remember at this point

Items and character traits/skills, can help you add additional dices, save dices, reroll dices.
