A new update for Mosaico is out!

Please remember that you can run your Steam copy without running the Steam client itself.

A brief list of changes in this new version 1.8.2:

• New feature to automatically restore a snapshot when Windows starts.

Hi there!

New in-house built licensing system is finally up and running!
This means that you can use the license code provided via Steam to register the retail version of Mosaico, available at www.soulidstudio.com !

• Open Steam client
  
• Right click on Mosaico entry
  
• Select "Show CD Key"

• Uninstall the Steam version of Mosaico
  
• Download retail setup at www.soulidstudio.com
  
• Install and run
  
• Select "I have a license code"
  
• Insert your license code and click "Register"

Steam and retail version are functionally the same, but you may want to install your copy of Mosaico where you can't install the Steam client (i.e. at work).

Hi there!

It is now possible to run Mosaico without Steam showing your online status as "In game: Mosaico".

This feature has been largely requested over time, so I'm happy to announce that from now on you'll be able to run Mosaico separately from Steam client. This also means that if you set the "Run at Windows startup" option, Steam client will not run anymore.

This feature has been available for beta users for about two weeks. Now that it is implemented in the main branch, you may want to disable your participation at the beta.

This change was made possible by the integration of a new licensing system. This system is developed in-house and it's separated from Steam DRM. If you own Mosaico you received a serial key that's used to register Mosaico with our license server. Registration happens silently so there's no need to manually input the serial key. In future it will possible to use this key to register the retail version of Mosaico, which is downloadable from here: http://www.soulidstudio.com. At the moment though, this is still not possible, so please be patient :)

Also please note that "In game: Mosaico" will be shown for about 10 minutes overall, before being hidden permanently. This is intended to give you enough "play time" to be able to write a review on Steam.

This version is 1.8.1. Here's a list of changes:

• New feature to import and export snapshots. Save your snapshots on a file and load them on another PC to have the same work environment.
  
• New feature to import and export settings. Export your settings to another computer or just save more than one profile to use on the same PC.

Hi!

It is now possible to run Mosaico without Steam showing your player status as "In App: Mosaico".
This feature is still in beta and will be available soon for everyone.
If you want to help us and test this feature you can join the beta right now!

• In Steam client right click on Mosaico and select "Properties"
  
• Select the "BETA" tab
  
• Insert the code "mosaicopublicbeta" (without quotes)
  
• Click "Check code" button and wait for confirmation message
  
• Select "public_beta - Mosaico public beta" from the drop-down menu
  
• Wait for Mosaico to update
  
• Launch Mosaico and select "PUBLIC BETA" as launch option

If everything was OK you should now be running version 1.8.0.5 b2 S, please check it in "Settings -> About".

The "In App: Mosaico" status will be shown for 10 minutes in total to give the opportunity to new users to reach the minimum play time needed to write a review. After this period it won't be shown anymore.

If you don't want to join the beta you can launch Mosaico using the "Start Mosaico" launch option. Please note that if you don't join the beta even launching Mosaico with "PUBLIC BETA" launch option will result in old version (1.8.0.3S) being launched.

Running Mosaico outside of Steam is made possible by an external licensing system. If you own Mosaico you should have been assigned a third-party license code. When you join the beta and launch Mosaico through "PUBLIC BETA" launch option, Mosaico will try to register to the server using this code automatically. So please be sure to be connected to the internet when you launch the beta for the first time.

Please note that this code currently doesn't work with the retail version of Mosaico, although the integration is planned. In the future you will be able to download and register the retail version with the code provided via Steam.

The provided code can be activated on 3 different PCs before locking. When and if this happen please drop a message to info@soulidstudio.com and I'll extend the validity for you.

- Fixed a bug where some snapshots were not restored using the full screen area in the monitor hosting a Windows taskbar (you will need to capture the snapshots again).
- It is now possible to disable the exit confirmation dialog.
- It is now possible to disable docking&tabifying when Mosaico is near screen edges.
- Added a "Please wait" message when a snapshot is being restored.
- It is now possible to activate and register Mosaico via email, for PCs not connected to the internet.
