Hi,

I always have to double click to switch a menu or interact with something.
I checked the settings but could not find any setting for this.

Check the "Mouse" settings tab in your "System Preferences" to make sure your MacOS settings for the primary mouse button is assigned to the left button.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe the mouse click got assigned in the "keybindings" somehow. You might try reseting the keybindings in the options panel in the game to see if that clears up the problem.

Did OP ever find a fix to this? I have this exact issue after installing the parks DLC, everything in the game now requires a double click rather than a single one. Can't find any way to stop this happening and the game is now unplayable.

I notice this happens sporadically. Sometimes when I start up, every button requires a double click. Other times, it doesn't. Usually I just quit to desktop and start it again, repeating until it acts right. I'm on an M1Pro MacBook Pro. I never saw this on my old Intel MBP.

I have the same issue since late December, after an update, and I'm running MacOS on a MacBook Pro 2018. Sometimes work, as described by taJhalande but most of the times it doesn't. On Paradox foruns there people associating this with M1 Macs, but I have an Intel one with the same problem.

Using an M1 mac, same problem for me.

I had this pop up for me a few days ago on my M1 MacBook Pro. I went into the System Preferences for Trackpad and turned off "Look up & data detectors". That cleared up the problem for me, although it could be the game restart cleared the problem and I just got fooled.

I got the same issue... does anybody know what to do?

I noticed recently while playing Minecraft that it happened there and it seemed to be a window focus issue that carried over into the full screen view when maximized. If the window had front focus, everything worked properly. Sometimes, the window was on top of the stack but didn't have focus, and didn't get focus when clicked, and everything required a double click. I had to explicitly switch focus to another window and then back to get things to work correctly again. I think this is some OS related change in window behavior that probably these older game engines don't accommodate. Maybe the lookup & data detectors. I actually use that feature in other apps, though.

I just had the same problem on an Intel Mac and it's exactly like tajhlande said: it only happens when your window is not in focus (even if it's in fullscreen). I just opened mission control, switched to desktop and back to the game, and now it works fine

Hey, the quick solution for me and hopefully everyone is that clicks don't register well if you have a mac mouse moving on your screen and not the default city skylines mouse. What I did to get the city skylines mouse was to mess around with the windowed screen option in city skyline settings. Having it windowed, entering another window, and then back to the city skylines window fixed it for me!

Also on a M1 Mac here. It feels like you need to extremely limit your mouse movement during the Paradox Launcher and when the game launches. I'm not 100% sure on what causes it, but if I press "Play" while the Paradox Launcher is "logging in", or if I move my mouse before the Colossal Order splash screen (that you click to skip), it causes the double-click issue. What I do is I press "Play" from Steam, don't touch any mouse, wait until the Paradox Launcher logs in and starts playing ad animations, then move my mouse to "Play", and then limit all mouse movement until the Colossal Order splash screen comes up. I think this has been a problem for a while even on Windows (for example back in 2019 when I played on an Intel Mac), but I can't be 100% since it's been a while since I've gotten back to the game.

for what it's worth, Minecraft has the same issues for me. It's definitely not specific to this game.
